The production of salt is almost the easiest way amoung all the methods used for obtaining minerals.The most common one of the methods for obtaining salt is the vapourization method of the water in the puddles called saltpan.The vapourization method is used generally in dry and hot regions but in the salts obtained by this way,there can be unwanted degree of refinement for commercial aims.There can be several microorganisms which are inclined to salt in these salts that are newly obtained.These microorganisms can cause several food to spoil such as in making canned food.
Salt can be obtained from the rock salt.Rock salt is the one of the important salt source in Turkey.The colour of rock salt can be white,orange,yellow and clear.The rock salts which isn’t clear, be made clear with the help of pan method and vacuum method.
Pan Method
A small amount of lime is put into salt water which is rested in wooden bowl for precipitating Epsam salt.Then it is send to evaporation pan which is called pan.
Vacuum method
In this method,which replaces the pan method,salt water is evaporated with the aid of vacuum pumps. |
